“Nourish your mind as you care for your body, and both will flourish”
As a Black Caribbean therapist, my journey has been shaped by various personal and professional experiences. I work with my clients to help them understand that being strong also means allowing yourself to acknowledge and feel your emotions and not feed into societal expectations. A significant moment that greatly influenced my life was completing military basic training, which led to a profound realization about healing, resilience, and self-empowerment. These experiences have fueled my passion for supporting others on their journeys to emotional and psychological well-being.
My mission is to create a safe space where individuals—especially those from marginalized communities—can explore their struggles, uncover inner strength, and embrace their unique journey. I believe mental health care should be compassionate and culturally competent, as demonstrated in my work. My deep commitment to holistic care sets me apart as a counselor. I use a variety of therapeutic methods, including trauma-informed approaches, Person-Centered therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also draw from my personal experiences as a woman. I aim to provide clients with empathy, understanding, and practical tools for long-term change by combining professional expertise with genuine support. Most of my current clients are women of color dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and the aftermath of trauma. Many also struggle to balance their personal and professional lives while seeking a more profound sense of self-worth and empowerment.
In my work, I assist clients in exploring their emotional pain and guide them toward greater self-awareness and emotional resilience. My approach is collaborative and client-led. I am here to listen, support, and empower clients to discover their solutions. Clients gain clarity about their past through consistent work, develop new coping strategies, and feel more confident about navigating their future. Over time, my clients and their loved ones often notice a shift in how they view themselves and their circumstances. Many leave sessions feeling more grounded, with an increased sense of self-love, emotional regulation, and hope. I focus on nurturing self-compassion and resilience, helping clients realize that healing is possible, regardless of their past experiences.
During my free time, I enjoy engaging in activities that bring me joy and balance—such as painting, exploring nature, traveling, and practicing mindfulness. I’m passionate about self-care, faith, and personal growth, which enrich my work as a therapist and enable me to show up fully for my clients.
